Vitimins and Minerals that help with Heel and Foot Pain

There are many treatments for plantar fasciitis and heel spurs. These treatments don’t only include rest, heel cups and stretching, there are a variety of “out of the box” treatments available too. Vitamins are another way to approach pain and inflammation associated with plantar fasciitis and can also  help prevent its return.

Some vitamins and minerals are known in the medical communities because of their surprising results with less invasive qualities.  Here are a few vitamins that you can add to help treat your plantar fasciitis:

  • Calcium
    • Calcium and magnesium help prevent the abnormal deposits of calcium causing heel spurs.
  • Magnesium
    • Calcium can’t be absorbed by the body properly with out magnesium which can lead to a deficiency in calcium. This has been linked to the formation of heel and bone spurs.
  • Vitamin C with Broflavanoids
    • Taking Vitamin C in conjunction with bioflavonoids is known to accelerate the heeling process and have anti-inflammatory abilities.
  • Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM)

    • Methylsulfonylmethane comes in topical cream form or lotion as well as a pill and reduces inflammation and pain.
